What is your proudest personal accomplishment?
Being independent from the age of fifteen on, living in different countries by myself without knowing the language at the beginning and without the presence of my parents. Having succeeded in working in different cultures and learning the most from them.

What is something unique that has happened to you; some interesting thing about you?
I was once kidnapped, in what in my country is known as an express kidnapping. It was a very hard experience. I learned to remain calm in a very stressful situation and to try to reach to the human part of our abductors.

What do you want the judges to know about you?
I am grateful to life for my family and for the opportunities to grow in different places and learn the most from them. Even in the hardest of times what my family and life has taught me has helped me push through and succeed .

Definitely, my career ambition is to become a well known plastic surgeon.

I'm very proud of my family for our union and also the support of one another.

Actually, my job as a maid lasted for only one month and the reason for that was to help my family, then I got a job as a receptionist and later as a secretary. Now I've taken a course in cosmetology and started working at a health and beauty clinic.

I got a scar on my right thigh trying to save a little puppy's life. Since then I consider it to be my lucky scar.

I am aware, focused, disciplined, determined and courageous. I love my family and animals. I love to interact; I would rather be surrounded with people than live in isolation. I am a city girl, very comfortable in front of the camera. I love being around people. Being on stage in front of an audience gives me a high because of the instant reaction.

I’ve always tried to be independent, and I’ve been helping my parents since I was 16. While studying in college, I had a project to work out a business plan for a housing and utilities company. At the moment, this company is a very successful.

When I was 16 I wanted to be independent. I worked as a waitress. My first paycheck I gave to my mother, and the rest I spent on the first beach holiday in my life.

My career ambition is to have my own business in the entertainment field. It is both my choices and my strive to achieve that will take me there. From helping out backstage at a Runway show, to being the center of attention, everything I do will help me explore and get me closer to my aspiration. With strict discipline and thoroughly taking each step towards my goal, one day my perseverance will be rewarded.

What is your proudest personal accomplishment?
Breaking down stereotypes and embracing changes in society is what fuels new ideas in progress. My ambition for modeling was blatant to my surroundings, and my deep desire was strong enough to break down any misconceived ideas. Therefore, my proudest accomplishment would be achieving that degree of positive attitude that helps me get through anything in life.

What is something unique that has happened to you; some interesting thing about you?
As Miss Universe Canada, I’ve had the opportunity to fulfill one of my deepest dreams – making a difference in the lives of others, especially through my work with S.O.S. Children’s Villages and the American-Nicaraguan Foundation. Words could never accurately describe what I feel inside, and it has truly been more fulfilling than I could have ever imagined. I will forever be grateful for these experiences, and I know this is something I will continue for the rest of my life.

What do you want the judges to know about you?
I believe that everyone is blessed with life and we should not take things for granted. But instead, savor the moments, and use our advantages to help others with disadvantages. I would like the judges to know that if I am chosen as Miss Universe 2008, I would be totally committed to the job and the organization behind it. I thrive on challenge and set very high standards for myself; and possess an intense desire to do my best in anything I get involved with.
